Evan Romano 

Early Years and Move to New Jersey

Evan Romano was born in Biddeford, Maine, on March 30, 2007. At the young age of 5, Evan and his family relocated to New Jersey, where his passion for basketball began to flourish. While he briefly played baseball until the age of 10 (4th grade), basketball quickly became his primary focus.

High School Career and Challenges

Evan Romano: Freshman Year Success

During his freshman year at Holmdel High School, Evan made an immediate impact, scoring an impressive 333 points as a starter on the varsity team.

Evan Overcoming Injuries

Evan’s journey was not without obstacles. He faced back-to-back injuries, including a torn meniscus and a fractured neck. These setbacks taught Evan the value of time and commitment, fueling his determination to excel on the court.

Jersey Shore Predators

Evan’s basketball journey began with the Jersey Shore Predators, a team co-founded by his father, Jay Romano, and Jason Goldman.

Shoreshots: Evan Romano Progression

At Shoreshots, Evan demonstrated his growth by advancing from the C team to the A team, showcasing his dedication and skill improvement.

Under Armour Circuit and Beyond

Evan played for Team Rio on the Under Armour circuit for two seasons (15U and 16U). Recently, he moved up to play 17U for Team Kulture on the Made Hoops Circuit, further challenging himself against top-tier competition.

St. Rose

Evan transferred from Holmdel to St. Rose for his sophomore season, giving up his starting spot to be 6th man. Evan came off the bench to play at a high level. His goal was to win championships.  In his junior season he earned a starting spot.

They won the NJSIAA Non-Public State Championship, capping off their historic season with a dominant performance in the final game.

– Joe Jackson: AAU coach

– Larry Smith: Local hooper providing training, coaching, and officiating

– Brian Lynch: Instrumental in developing Evan’s basketball IQ

Romano’s Future Prospects

Standing at 6’3″ and playing as a guard, Evan has already received offers from Buffalo and Old Dominion. He continues to work tirelessly both on and off the court, with aspirations of playing at the Division I level.
