High School
Seimone Augustus was born in Baton Rouge, Louisiana on April 30, 1984. She attended Capitol High School, where she was a star basketball player. As a result, Seimone led her team to the state championship in 2002 and was named the Gatorade National Player of the Year.
College
Subsequently, Augustus attended Louisiana State University (LSU) on a full scholarship. She played for the LSU Tigers women’s basketball team from 2003 to 2006. During her time at LSU, she led the Tigers to three consecutive NCAA Tournament appearances, including the Final Four in 2006. Finally, She was named to the All-SEC First Team all four years and was the SEC Player of the Year in 2006.
Professional
Augustus was drafted first overall by the Minnesota Lynx in the 2006 WNBA Draft. She has played for the Lynx her entire professional career. During her time in Minnesota, she has won four WNBA championships (2011, 2013, 2015, and 2017). Seimone Augustus was named to the WNBA All-Star team eight times and the WNBA Finals MVP in 2011.

Current Status
Augustus retired from the WNBA in 2020. She is currently an assistant coach for the Los Angeles Sparks. Augustus is one of the most decorated players in WNBA history. She is a four-time WNBA champion, a WNBA Finals MVP, and an eight-time WNBA All-Star. Finally, Seimone is also a member of the USA Basketball Women’s National Team, where she has won three Olympic gold medals.
