Archbishop Wood vs. St. Rose

Milan Dean amassed highlight after highlight during session one and the 2025 6-3 wing is hoping to continue that trend this weekend. Dean showcased a terrific shot-blocking ability and impressive defensive awareness, which led to quick runouts the other way. Deuce Maxey, a 2025 6-2 guard with Division I offers and interest, and Mike Green, a 2025 6-foot sharpshooter, are experienced players who will lead a new group of Vikings such as 2026 6-3 guard Brady MacAdams, 2027 5-11 Buddy Denard, and budding 2027 6-9 forward Jaydn Jenkins. Also watch for 2028 6-4 guard Rowan Phillips, who looks to be the next promising standout for head coach John Mosco.(Source)

The Game

Archbishop Wood and St. Rose both lost two of the strongest players in their state, respectively. Jalil Bathea ( Univ. of Miami), and Matthew Hodge (Villanova) are now both heading into college.

Archbishop Wood

Milan Dean, created some opportunities to score the ball and get to the line.  But, the St. Rose defense was stifling. Switching on screens, defensive rotations in help, and the bench substitutions with young talent kept Wood scoring at a lower pace than usual.

St. Rose

Jayden Hodge, was extremely formidable, pushing the ball up the floor in transition, moving the ball, and putting the defense in tough situations in the half court. Jayden is scoring all over the floor. From three, Driving into his pull-up, posting strong and attacking from the back to the basket.

Tyler Cameron, a 6’ guard that completely stifles scoring opponents.  He also came out strong attacking to warm the offense up with a corner 3 and pull-up along with timely offensive rebounding.

Evan Romano slowly gained momentum, staying patient and striking his opponents with dagger threes and unexpected attacks to the basket.

With all the focus on the two starters, Avery Lynch, Tyler Cameron, Orien Campbell, Ohmere Rene, Isaiah Cooper, and Luke Winn, all contributed to the game win.

St. Rose vs. Friendship Tech

Friendship Tech features the Bumpass twins, Daniel (6-4) and David (6-5), along with 6-7 2025 wing Aidan Askins and 2026s Nazaire Hinton (6-6) and Malik Shackleford (6-2). (Source)

The Game

St. Rose’s Avery Lynch got off to a hot start, hitting a couple threes and getting to the basket in transition and in the half court.

Jayden Hodge stepped up in typical fashion with tenacious defense, running the floor, and when given an opportunity pushing the fast break.

Friendship Tech

The Bumpass twins along with their supporting cast were absolutely fierce in maintaining constant defensive pressure.

Tech was able to knock down some tough shots but could not sustain the effort.

St. Rose

The Roses moved the ball, and Jayden Hodge attacked in transition, defended, and got to the line and converted free throws to seal the game up. Avery Lynch’s consistent play throughout the game provided an edge the tech team couldn’t figure out.

St. Rose vs. Roman Catholic

 Roman Catholic

Roman Catholic makes its debut after sitting out Philly Live I, with 2027 guard Tyler Sutton joining the Cahillites’ core featuring 2025 PF Shareef Jackson and 2026 wing Sammy Jackson, the brothers now the veteran leaders for head coach Chris McNesby. Another talented 2025, Sebastian Edwards, has a chance to finally play big minutes after sitting behind some great guards the last few years. (Source)

St. Rose

Michigan State, UPenn, Old Dominion, UMBC, Bucknell, and many other schools were attending to see the high level talent for each program.

The Game

RC came out strong, with Shareef Jackson going to work early. A strong post presence and also comfortable on the perimeter. The lead expanded from 5-15 in a matter of a few minutes.

Second Half

The Roses were in an uphill battle early. (Down 18) Jayden Hodge and Evan Romano lead the comeback by attacking the rim and getting to the free throw line.   Avery Lynch, showed his versatility and helped his team get back in the game with supporting teammates.

The Comeback

As the second half approached the final seconds, the roses cut the lead to 2 points. With a big block by Jayden Hodge. The St Rose team had the final possession. Following a timeout called by Brian Lynch, (3.5) seconds remain with a chance to win the game.  Jayden Hodge got an open look of a full court inbound and push up the court.  But, the 3-point attempt rimmed in and out. Roman Catholic pulled off the win handing St. Rose their first Philly live loss of the 2024 summer.  Check this game in the link:
