Kevin Owens was a stand out center for Camden Catholic Catholic High School in New Jersey. He averaged 16 points, and 10 rebounds at the school. He played 3 years and led his team to a 23-3 record, as well as an appearance in the South Jersey Finals his senior year. Kevin also made a pair of all-star games that same year. They were the Al Carino All-Star game and the Jersey All-Star Games.

His abilities to move around the basket gained attention from multiple colleges and he decided to sign with Monmouth University. He made an immediate impact averaging 9 points and 5 rebounds a game during conference play. Throughout his career, Kevin worked to overcome injuries. Mr. Owens hard work ultimately paid off allowing him to rank amongst the best in rebounds and blocked shots in Monmouth history.

O Dawg’s laid-back demeanor often lulled opponents to sleep. Kevin controlled the boards and swatted unsuspecting victims at the rim. He finished his career at Monmouth with an NCAA berth. He was an All NEC Second Team honors, Defensive POY honors, and averaged 9.5 points, and pulled down 6 rebounds a game. Of course, Mr. Owens didn’t stop there.
Mr. Owens would find himself in the NBA G League playing for the Roanoke Dazzle where he averaged 6 points, and 5 rebounds over three seasons. Kevin was also selected to play for the Anaheim Arsenal. He then played in Australia for Cairns Taipan where he averaged 12 points, and 8 rebounds before heading to Estonia averaging 6 points, and 8 rebounds for Kalev/Cramo. His career was a successful one and he’s accomplished much through his physical adversities.
