Diana Taurasi is a professional basketball player who was born on June 11, 1982, in Glendale, California. She is considered one of the greatest women’s basketball players of all time.

In high school, Taurasi attended Don Lugo High School in Chino, California. She led her team to the state championships twice and was named the California Player of the Year in 2000 and 2001.

Diana Taurasi then attended the University of Connecticut where she played for the women’s basketball team. She led the team to three consecutive NCAA championships from 2002 to 2004 and was named the Most Outstanding Player in each of those tournaments. She was also named the Naismith College Player of the Year in 2003 and 2004 and the Associated Press Player of the Year in 2003, 2004, and 2006.

After college, Taurasi played professional basketball in Russia for several years. She won multiple championships and was named the Russian Player of the Year several times.

In 2004, Diana Taurasi was drafted by the Phoenix Mercury in the WNBA draft. She has played for the team ever since and has won three WNBA championships with them. Taurasi has been named the WNBA MVP once and has been named to the All-WNBA first team ten times. She is also the WNBA’s all-time leading scorer.

Throughout her career, Taurasi has received numerous awards and honors, including being named to the USA Basketball Women’s National Team multiple times and winning four Olympic gold medals with the team. She was also inducted into the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame in 2018.
