Li Meng, a native of Shenyang, China, was born on January 2, 1995. She displayed a natural aptitude for basketball from a young age, honing her skills on the public courts near her home. Her passion for the game grew steadily. As a result, she quickly became one of the top junior players in China.

Li Meng’s exceptional talent caught the attention of coaches, and she was invited to attend Shenyang Army Golden Lions. A renowned institution for developing basketball players. During her time with the team she continued to refine her skills. Therein, established herself as a dominant force on the court.

Meng: Basketball Career

Initially, Li Meng’s career was marked by impressive achievements. She led her team to multiple victories, including the Chinese Basketball League (CBA) championship in 2016. Her individual accolades included being named Most Valuable Player, 2010 FIBA Under-17 World Championship for Women.

Li Meng’s performances also earned her recognition on the international stage. She represented China at the 2014, 2018, and 2022 FIBA Women’s Basketball World Cups, showcasing her talents on a global platform.

WNBA

Subsequently, in 2023, Li Meng’s dreams of playing in the WNBA became a reality.  She was drafted by the Washington Mystics with the 20th overall pick. Li quickly made an impact, becoming a key contributor to the Mystics’ success.

Li Meng’s rookie season was nothing short of remarkable. She averaged 5.6 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game, demonstrating her versatility and ability to make an impact on both ends of the court.
