Carli Lloyd attended Eastern Regional High School in Voorhees Township, New Jersey. She was a standout soccer player for the school’s team and was named an All-State player in her junior and senior years.

In her junior year, she was named to the All-State first team, and in her senior year, she was named to the All-State second team. She was also named to the All-South Jersey first team in both her junior and senior years, and she was a four-time All-Conference selection. In addition to her soccer achievements, Lloyd was also a member of the school’s track and field team, where she excelled in the long jump and triple jump.

After graduating from high school in 2000, Lloyd attended Rutgers University, where she continued her soccer career and became one of the best players in the school’s history.

Carli Lloyd achieved great college success playing soccer at Rutgers.

She started all four years for the Scarlet Knights, being a key player. Lloyd made All-Big East first team three times (2002, 2003, 2004). She also made All-Big East second team in 2001. Moreover, Lloyd earned All-Mid Atlantic Region first team honors in 2004. Additionally, she was a MAC Hermann Trophy finalist for top college player.

Furthermore, Lloyd helped lead Rutgers to four straight NCAA Tournaments. In 2004, the team reached the Elite Eight for the first time ever. She finished her college career with 41 goals and 21 assists over 83 games.

Carli Lloyd achieved great professional success as a soccer player with the USWNT and club teams.

Lloyd debuted for the USWNT in 2005. She quickly became a key player. Additionally, Carli represented the U.S. in many tournaments, including three World Cups (2007, 2011, 2015) and three Olympics (2008, 2012, 2016). In 2015, she led the USWNT to World Cup victory, scoring a hat trick in the Japan final and winning Golden Ball as tourney MVP. Lloyd also won two Olympic golds, in 2008 and 2012.

Furthermore, Lloyd enjoyed fruitful club stints with teams like the Chicago Red Stars, Sky Blue FC, Manchester City, and Houston Dash.

Moreover, Lloyd won numerous career awards, including FIFA World Player of the Year in 2015 and 2016. She also earned the U.S. Soccer Female Athlete of the Year award five times (2008, 2009, 2015, 2016, 2017). Many regard Lloyd as one of soccer’s greatest players ever.
