St. Rose visits Manasquan
St. Rose, the No. 2 team in the NJ.com Top-20 rankings, who rolled to an 63-44 victory over No. 2 in the shore Manasquan. By the end of the first quarter the game was 21-7. St. Rose historically loses to Manasquan, but this year with the injury of their leader and chief Fraunheim. And the departure of Darius Adams, Manasquan lacked the experience from the prior year.
Gioachinno Panzini dropped 17 points grabbed 6 rebounds to lead St. Rose. Matthew Hodge added a double double with 11 points, 10 rebounds, 5 assists, 2 blocks, and 4 steals. while Jayden Hodge added 15 points, 7 rebounds, and 4 assists, 2 blocks, and 5 steals. Evan Romano chipped in 8 points and 4 rebounds and 3 assists for St. Rose.
Second half Manasquan battled St. Rose battled hard to chip down the lead with Griffin Linstra (16 pts, 5 reb, 3 steals) and freshman Ray Weinselmer (11pts, 5 reb) leading the charge. But without any help from their supporting cast. It was a lost hope. There were some situation in the game where there were several techincals issued in the game to help keep the players in check and focused on the game. In the end the better team won the game.
